Entabeni Safari Conservancy

Entabeni Safari Conservancy - ‘The Place of the Mountain’, is situated in the World Heritage ‘Waterberg Biosphere’ of the Waterberg region. Less than a three-hour drive north of Johannesburg, this 22 000 ha malaria-free reserve boasts five eco-systems. The upper escarpment offers majestic craggy rock formations and wide-open grass plains. This is separated from the lower plateau by 600 metre high cliffs. The lower escarpment is approximately three degrees warmer and comprises of sandveld vegetation and a series of wetlands.

Entabeni offers far more than the usual game sightings of the Big Five. Experience scenic helicopter flights, stargazing in the observatory, sunset lake cruises and a variety of game viewing activities.

A unique culinary experience - Bundu Kitchen

Bundu Kitchen was born out of a passion for food in June 2006. Jared Thomas who is a chef and has 15 years of culinary experience formed the kitchen. Jared opened his own Restaurant – Eco Café for 7 years and was the first to come up with the open plan kitchen food concept within Eco Café. What makes this chef unique is his complete understanding of food and how it benefits individuals; as he has also studied food nutrition and can therefore tailor make culinary experiences.

What is Bundu Kitchen?

Catering
Bundu Kitchen is equipped to cater for up to 800 individuals off site, at any location the client requires. The kitchen is therefore fully mobile and equipment can be taken to any site. We differentiate ourselves from other caterers by offering a “FOOD EXPERIENCE”, where guests have the opportunity to interact with food. We facilitate the following catering services:

• Finger food/Cocktail snack Drop offs (managed onsite if required)
• Mobile Mongolian Braai’s/Traditional bush Braai’s/potjies for parties on/off site
• Traditional Breakfasts & Lunches off site

Food Team Building
Bundu Kitchen is contracted to two venues in order to facilitate our cook-off team building experiences for corporate clients. We specialise in bonding teams or departments within corporate companies.

Future Plans for Safari Banqueting Venue
Bundu Kitchen’s Safari Banqueting Venue in Chartwell will be built by March 2009. The venue will be able to accommodate up to 100 guests and will have a Whiskey/Cigar lounge, Boardroom for conferencing, outdoor open area for private functions & outdoor pit fire area with seated lounge & bar.

Ideas

Project Picasso
As they are a small group we liked the idea you had of giving them each an individual canvas that they have to paint a self discovery “portrait” on. The artwork could show their individual personalities, their goals, ambitions, motivators, things that are important to them, strengths that they think they contribute to the team. They don’t have to be able to draw as they can use abstract art and symbolism. The only problem then is that they will be working on their own and not as a team.

At the end of the paint exercise they can explain aspects of their artwork to their team members i.e. who they are and what their painting represents.

Ice Ice Baby
In this activity, the team is divided into groups and give a block of ice. They then have to sculpt the ice. This quiet a challenging task but lots of fun.

Gold Rush
If the team hasn’t done this it’s BIG fun. We can divide them into 3 groups of 5. They go on a gold rush/ amazing race that we have designed through Gold Reef City. Looking for clues and doing exciting, tasty, scary and not so scary activities. Lasts for the morning and ends with a nice lunch.

Charlie and Choc Factory
A fun and tasty teambuilding activity that will leave chocolate lovers screaming for more. Teams are challenged to perform various tasks and activities using chocolate.

Going Potty with Pottery
This activity is better if undertaken in studio in Randburg, teams get to throw clay on a potters wheel with the help of an expert and actually make something that can be taken home. (Think the movie Ghost)

Each person also gets to make either a pinch pot or a coil pot with clay, or they can simply paint some bisqueware. Should teams not be able to visit the pottery studio and wish to do it in another venue they will simply be able to make the pinch pots or coil pots. The pots will be taken away and fired and delivered back to the office 1 – 2 weeks later.
